The Sun SPARC Enterprise M5000 server offers powerful computing performance in an effective 10U housing. At the CPU board level, the Sun M5000 holds up to eight 2.1GHz SPARC64 VI dual-core processors with SPARC V9 architecture. The M5000 is also a RAM powerhouse, featuring as many as eight memory boards with the ability to utilize up to 256GB of system memory. As with all Sun Servers the M5000 is extremely reliable for all types of usage.

The 8-way Sun M5000 supports the dual-core Sun SPARC64 VI and quad-core SPARC64 VII processors, which hold 5 megabytes of Level 2 cache. What's more, the Sun M5000 can handle both processors simultaneously. Packed with redundant and swappable features, the M5000 is built to power your datacenter for years to come.

Aside from delivering high performance, the Sun M5000 also runs efficiently during system errors when other systems would fail. Sun's Predictive Self-Healing technology automatically diagnoses and fixes system errors before they cause problems, and redundant network and storage connections ensure that your data is protected. The Sun M5000 supports the breakthrough Sun Solaris 10 operating system.
