The Sun StorEdge D1000 array comes in both 8-slot and 12-slot capacity packages. The expandability of the Sun D1000 platform allows you to simply add more disk trays as expansion is required for growing datasets. The D1000 can utilize 9GB-146GB internal SCSI disk drives for a maximum capacity of up to 1.7TB. The StorEdge D1000 can utilize software raid for data redundancy in your workgroup datacenter.
