Equipped with one or two 4-core, 6-core, 8-core or 12-core IBM POWER7 processors, the IBM Power 740 Server scales from 8 to 256 gigabytes of main memory, 4 megabytes of Level 3 cache per core and 256 kilobytes of Level 2 cache per core. With up to eight SSD SFF or SFF SAS drives, the IBM 740 stores as much as 2.4 terabytes internally.
