The HP rp7420 server, known officially as the HP 9000 rp7420, is a powerhouse of a datacenter solution backed by up to eight HP PA-8900 or HP PA-8800 processors that can handle 64 and 32 megabytes of cache each, respectively. Scaled to its full potential, the HP rp7420 supports 128 gigabytes of main memory, 16 DIMM slots, and 16 PCI-X slots. The HP rp7420 also supports as many as four 36, 73, 146 or 300-gigabyte hot-pluggable drives for up to 1.2 terabytes of internal disk storage.
